LiFePO4 vs Lithium Ion
Lithium ion is a family of chemistries, not a single chemistry. LiFePO4 is one member of that family. This guide compares LiFePO4 with other lithium-ion chemistries in general terms. It is not a product specification, and it does not describe any particular model on this site.
The family and the member
Other lithium-ion chemistries commonly use nickel, manganese or cobalt in their cathode material, while LiFePO4 uses iron phosphate. That difference in cathode material affects the cell voltage, the energy density and the thermal behaviour in general terms. LiFePO4 cells typically have a lower nominal voltage per cell and a lower energy density than some nickel-based cells, which means a LiFePO4 pack of the same energy will often be larger and heavier than a nickel-based pack. That trade-off is accepted where thermal stability and cycle life matter more than compactness.
The comparison is often presented as a simple choice between safety and energy density, but that presentation is too simple. A finished pack's safety also depends on its management system, its housing and its installation, not only on its chemistry. A well-managed pack of one chemistry can be safer in practice than a poorly managed pack of another chemistry. Buyers should therefore compare finished packs on their listed specifications and protection lists, not on chemistry labels alone.
Cycle life and voltage behaviour
Cycle life is measured under a stated test condition, and the condition matters as much as the headline number. A figure measured at a low discharge rate and a shallow depth of discharge cannot be compared directly with a figure measured at a higher rate and a deeper depth, because the tests differ. A buyer comparing models should therefore read the condition behind each figure, and should ask for any missing detail — rate, depth of discharge, capacity remaining and temperature — before ranking two models against each other.
LiFePO4 also has a relatively flat discharge voltage curve, which means the voltage stays fairly steady for much of the discharge and then falls more steeply near the end. That behaviour affects how state of charge is estimated: voltage alone is a poor indicator of remaining capacity for much of the discharge. A management system that tracks charge in and out, rather than relying on voltage alone, gives a more useful estimate. That is a general point about the chemistry, not a claim about a particular model's management system.
Choosing between chemistries
The choice between LiFePO4 and another lithium-ion chemistry depends on the application: the voltage system, the space available, the weight budget, the cycle-life requirement and the temperature range. Where thermal stability and cycle life matter most, LiFePO4 is often chosen. Where compactness and energy density matter most, another chemistry may be chosen instead. This guide does not recommend a chemistry for a particular installation, because that recommendation needs the system details. Buyers should use the product pages for model-specific figures and the enquiry checklist to state the system details.
For a business enquiry, the most useful details are the system voltage, the capacity, the expected discharge current, the operating temperature range and the physical space available. A pack that fits on paper can still fail in use if the discharge current, the temperature range or the terminal layout does not match the application. That is why this site asks buyers to confirm specifications per model, rather than selecting from a generic table.
Enquiry checklist
Before sending an enquiry, note the voltage, capacity, quantity, application and any required certification document. State whether the pack will be used indoors or outdoors, and whether a display or a particular terminal type is needed. Minimum order quantity and lead time are unavailable on this site and are confirmed per model in the enquiry. Quotations are confirmed per order.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get a quotation?
Send an enquiry with the voltage, capacity and quantity you need, plus the application. Quotations are confirmed per order, and specifications are confirmed per model before payment. This site does not list fixed selling figures.
What certification documents can you provide?
ISO 9001 is stated by the company. Certificates are available upon request. If a buyer needs a certificate for a specific model, ask for it in the enquiry and name the model, so the correct document can be checked.
Are the specifications on this page valid for every model?
No. Specifications are shown per model and must not be read across the whole range. Where a value is not listed for a model, the page says to confirm per model rather than filling in a generic figure.
